Yang Feng Chen

(Taiwanese , b. 1955 )

Yang was born in Yilan County, Taiwan, in 1955. He graduated from the National Taiwan Academy of Arts (now the National Taiwan University of Arts) where he majored in sculpture. He then worked as a researcher for two years at the Laser Laboratory at National Taiwan University’s Yen Tjing Ling Industrial Research Institute. From the time he was a child, Yang followed his father, Yang Ying-feng (also known as Yuyu Yang), in his studies of the art and philosophies of sculpture as well as the beliefs of Eastern cultures. He is currently the President of the Sculpture Association of Taiwan, the Honorary Director-General for the China Society of Creative Arts, and the Curator of the Yuyu Yang museum. In 1979, he participated in the Young Artists Exhibition in San Francisco, California; in 1983, he was invited to participate in the exhibition for the opening anniversary of the Taipei Fine Arts Museum. Since 1991, Yang has won over 50 awards and accolades from the art community both at home and abroad
